Alumni Tips on Doing Good Better

PROVO, Utah – Feb 22, 2018 – With disaster, disease, and social issues in the news, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of how to help. Sometimes you don’t know whether the hours and money you give are actually being used effectively. BYU Magazine’s article Doing Good Better provides advice from multiple professors and alumni regarding how to do good effectively and make your contribution impactful. 

One of the professors mentioned in the article is Todd Manwaring, director of the BaIlard Center for Economic Self-Reliance—a center dedicated to helping students Do Good Better. He emphasizes that choosing a cause you are passionate about and learning all you can about it can help you make a real impact. Whether you already have a passion for a particular issue or you want to learn more about social issues and how you can be an effective changemaker, the Ballard Center is an incredible resource right here on BYU campus. Through the Ballard Center you can Do Good Better by taking classes, participating in competitions and clubs, or interning for organizations creating change all around the world.
