Program Overview

The finance major boasts outstanding faculty and students. The faculty are highly regarded industry experts with impressive publishing records and industry experience who are devoted to training and mentoring students. Our students have claimed multiple national championships in case competitions and compete head-to-head with the most prestigious universities in America for placement opportunities.

The finance program is limited enrollment, accepting 230 students on a rolling basis beginning each fall semester. Students interested in applying to the program are required to complete ACC 200, FIN 201, and 3.0 hours from the following course(s): ACC310, ECON 110, GSCM 201, GSCM 211, IS 201, MATH 118, MKTG 201, or STAT 121 prior to applying. Due to the competitive nature of the program, average prerequisite and overall GPAs for admitted students are very high.

Once in the program, students will take a rigorous and diverse set of required and elective classes covering topics such as investments, capital markets, corporate finance, derivatives, fixed-income, equity valuation, and many others. During their senior year, students have the opportunity to take electives focusing on one of seven areas, which will help them further specialize their skills and prepare for their intended career track.

Throughout their time in the program, students have opportunities to serve in leadership positions, present their work to colleagues and industry experts, participate in national competitions, network with Fortune 500 companies, and receive mentoring from industry professionals.
