BYU is an I-Corps site and uses the I-Corps curriculum based on “customer development” and “lean launch” principles.
National Science Foundation I-Corps sites promote technology commercialization across the country and give $1,000—$3,000 grants to teams that validate business models and determine whether or not a given technology is worth commercializing. The goal of each grant is to make a “go” or “no-go” decision within a short period of time (usually 1-3 months). Grant money is provided to fund customer validation work (such as traveling to attend a trade show where many potential customers can be found), and is not used for product development or team member compensation.
