Chris Crittenden Announced as New Director of Rollins Center

PROVO, Utah – Feb 11, 2021 – The BYU Marriott School of Business recently announced Chris Crittenden as the new director of the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. The Rollins Center is an on-campus resource dedicated to helping BYU students start or grow their own businesses. The center provides a variety of resources, including mentorship, class courses, competitions, conferences and workshops, which are all designed to help students find success in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Crittenden has taught at BYU Marriott since 2018 as an adjunct professor of management. During this time, he created three new courses and the product development track within the strategy major. Now, as he joins the Rollins Center, he looks forward to heading new projects that encourage more students to become involved with the Rollins Center. "I'm excited to join the Rollins Center team,” he says. “We have a lot of momentum, and I look forward to using that momentum to build programs across campus that deepen our impact with students."

Before joining BYU Marriott, Crittenden was involved in several entrepreneurial pursuits. He co-founded Yumprint, an artificial intelligence app for at-home cooks; Walmart acquired the company in 2014. Following the acquisition, he stayed with Walmart, where he led product for online grocery from beta to a national rollout. Most recently, he helped grow Reef Capital Partners to nearly one billion dollars in investments.

“We are thrilled to have Chris as our new director of the Rollins Center,” says BYU Marriott dean Brigitte C. Madrian. “His personal experiences in growing real-world businesses will be instrumental in helping our own student entrepreneurs. I’m confident that Chris’ expertise, combined with our students’ passion for innovation, will lead to continued success in the students’ entrepreneurial endeavors with the Rollins Center.”

The BYU Marriott School of Business prepares men and women of faith, character, and professional ability for positions of leadership throughout the world. Named for benefactors J.
