Biography

Bill Tayler joined the Marriott School in 2012. He previously taught at Emory University, Cornell University, and the BYU Salt Lake Extension. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees in accounting at BYU, graduating with university honors. He completed his master's degree and Ph.D. in management at Cornell University. Bill's teaching focuses on undergraduate, master’s, and executive-level management accounting. His research explores psychological and social influences that affect judgment and decision making in accounting and has been published in Accounting Horizons, Accounting, Organizations and Society, The Accounting Review, The Institute of Management Accountants Educational Case Journal, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and Strategic Finance. Bill has received numerous teaching and research awards, and currently serves as a Research Foundation Director for the Institute of Management Accountants, and on the editorial boards of The Accounting Review, Accounting, Organizations, and Society, and Management Accounting Research. Bill and his wife Sarah have eight children.
