ExDQ18 is different from other conferences you may have attended. While we will have some amazing speakers and great food, our primary goal is to actively engage attendees in several experience design, experience mapping, positive psychology, and experience economy processes. You will work in teams to apply lessons learned to design experiences for yourself and your organization. At the end of the conference you will walk away with new knowledge as well as experience design tools ready to be put to work in your personal and professional lives.
A research retreat on Wednesday, April 4 precedes the conference. Attendees will have a forum to share and discuss their work in progress and develop a collaborative research agenda related to structured experiences. The hope is to bring a group of academics together who have a shared interest in studying and understanding experiences from the participant and provider perspective and who are eager to discuss ideas. We define experiences quite broadly and hope to attract a diverse array of researchers, research topics, and discussion areas. It will be a collaborative and intimate experience with ample opportunities for interaction.
