The Marriott School of Business at BYU is proud to present the 9th High School Business Language Competition (HSBLC) taking place Friday, February 28, 2020. The HSBLC provides an opportunity for high school students to apply their business and language skills outside their school environment, develop their presentation abilities, and use their creativity all while developing a business plan.
New as of 2019: Spanish, French, Chinese, and Arabic are all included as competition languages!
Each team must consist of three high school students that are currently enrolled in the sponsoring high school.
The competition will consist of two parts: a business plan development and a business plan presentation.
Business Plan Development
Each team will be given a product to market to a specific demographic. They will have approximately four weeks to learn about the product, learn about the target market, and develop a business plan to effectively market the product. You can find the marketing challenge on the Marketing Plan Prompt page.
Business Plan Presentation
Students will present their business plans to a jury of native/fluent language speakers on Friday, 28 February 2020 at the Marriott School of Business at BYU. A typed executive summary is also required.
