The Marriott School will honor George Bodenheimer, Executive Chairman of ESPN, with its 2012 International Executive of the Year award at a special reception and dinner Thursday evening.
Bodenheimer, who began his ESPN career in 1981 as a driver in the mailroom, became president 17 short years later. He is an ESPN and cable industry pioneer and, as the company’s longest-tenured president (13 years, 1998-2012), he led an unprecedented period of global growth. Bodenheimer graduated from Denison University in 1980 with a bachelor of arts degree in economics. He is married with three children.
