What to expect from this study abroad?

The MBA Asia study abroad trip will give participants a comprehensive overview of trends in business currently at play and an in-depth view into companies currently operating in the region. You'll get to see firsthand the strategies companies have pursued to take part in the explosive growth in places like China, Vietnam and Cambodia, and how they've adapted to the ever changing business, social and political environment. Come and experience this incredible shift in economic prominence first hand on this short-term study abroad; meaning you'll still have time for that summer internship!

We will start our trip in the seat of government (Beijing) of the world's fastest growing economy, experiencing the rich culture of this city and its unique business environment. Then we will travel southward, on the engines that are helping move this massive economy, visiting Shanghai, Guang Zhou and eventually landing in Hong Kong the "Pearl of the Orient". Finally we'll shift gears heading to Bangkok to get a sense into where many of the early movers are setting up operations. All along the way we will be visiting large multinational corporations, government owned enterprises and emerging local businesses, in diverse industries including finance, manufacturing, product development, marketing, and logistics. In addition to company visits, alumni dinners and events will be coordinated in cities with large BYU alumni populations.

This short-term Study Abroad gives students the chance to expand their understanding of the culture and business practices in Asia, while providing opportunities to network with alumni and friends of the university who are living and working in the region. Students will gain insight into the business climate, and make connections with professionals in the region.
