Marriott School Named “Most Family-Friendly” by The Princeton Review

PROVO, Utah — Nov 02, 2005 — The 2006 edition of The Princeton Review’s “Best 237 Business Schools” named BYU’s Marriott School the nation’s “Most Family-Friendly” business school.

“This should come as no surprise,” says Jim Stice, MBA director. “Since our goals and objectives of the MBA program are aligned with those of the Church, it is our responsibility and commitment to be family-friendly.”

The “Most Family-Friendly” ranking is based on a student assessment of: how happy married students are, how helpful the school is to students with children and how much the school does for the spouses of students.

“Being recognized in this area is another indication that our MBA Spouses Association is second to none,” Stice continues. “They ensure that the spouses of our MBA students are aware of and involved in the education process. With the high demands of a nationally ranked MBA program, the Spouses Association provides a great support network through challenging times.”

The rankings are based on Princeton Review’s. surveys of 16,000 business school students. The surveys are made up of 79 multiple-choice questions and seven free-response questions, covering five sections: about yourself, students, academics, careers and quality of life. Surveys were conducted primarily online during the 2004–05 and 2003–04 academic years.

The Marriott School is located at Brigham Young University, the largest privately owned, church-sponsored university in the United States. The school has nationally recognized programs in accounting, business management, public management, information systems, organizational behavior and entrepreneurship. The school’s mission is to prepare men and women of faith, character and professional ability for positions of leadership throughout the world. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled in the Marriott School’s graduate and undergraduate programs.
