Hatch Earns NCAA's Elite 90 Award

Finance graduate and men's volleyball standout boasts top GPA among NCAA Tournament participants

PROVO, Utah – May 06, 2016 – Michael Hatch, a recent Marriott School graduate who received his bachelor's degree in finance last month, was honored with the Elite 90 Award for the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Volleyball Championship.

Hatch, a middle blocker on the university's men's volleyball team, was presented the award during the AVCA Championship Banquet held May 4 at Penn State's Beaver Stadium. In addition to his academic achievements, he has been a major defensive presence on the volleyball court, ranking third nationally in blocks per set and a hit percentage of .413, second best on the team. Hatch and the Cougars are set to play in the NCAA championship game Saturday against Ohio State.

The Elite 90 Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships. The student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and be an active member of his or her designated squad at the championship site.

Recent finance graduate Michael Hatch received the NCAA's Elite 90 Award in men's volleyball.
