US News 2020 Rankings: BYU Business and Law Moving Up in Top 40

PROVO, Utah – Mar 12, 2019 – Another round of graduate school rankings from U.S. News & World Report brings another round of good news for BYU programs. BYU’s Law and Business programs each moved up in the 2020 rankings released today, with the Marriott School of Business coming in at No. 32 and the J. Reuben Clark Law School landing at No. 39.

BYU Marriott jumped three spots and the Law School jumped two spots from the 2019 rankings. Within BYU Marriott, two graduate specialties got additional high marks: Accounting ranked No. 4 and Public Management came in at No. 29.

“These rankings continue to recognize the high-quality education that our students receive as we prepare them to become leaders who will positively influence the world,” said Brigitte Madrian, BYU Marriott dean. “We are proud that our graduates are continuing to lead the way forward in their organizations and their communities.”

Several other BYU graduate programs also landed in the Top 100, including the BYU Marriott MPA program at No. 53 — an increase of six spots — the McKay School of Education at No. 78 and the Public Health program at No. 89. BYU’s Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering ranked No. 95 overall, but had several programs in the Top 100 as well:

  • Chemical Engineering: 69
  • Civil Engineering: 72
  • Mechanical Engineering: 73
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering: 82

The U.S. News releases two sets of rankings each year: the Best Graduate Schools rankings come out each spring and the Best Colleges (undergraduate rankings) come out in the fall. BYU also ranks highly in several undergraduate programs, details of which can be seen below:
