Biography:

Perkes was named Assistant Vice President - Talent Management May of 2018. His team has responsibility for Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Training, and Total Rewards for all of Union Pacific's 43,000 employees.

Prior to his role in Human Resources, Perkes was Assistant Vice President - Customer Experience. His team had responsibility for the entire customer journey. They developed and implemented strategies and technology changes to dramatically improve the customer experience. In his role, Perkes also had responsibility for all department technology solutions as well as the company pricing framework and other key strategic initiatives.

Perkes previously worked as Senior Director, Customer Communications. His team had responsibility for all major customer events and customer marketing materials including video, presentation, flyers, social media, and other customer communications. He also had responsibility for the creation of all internal and external content for Union Pacific's Chief Marketing Officer.

Prior to Customer Communications, Perkes was Senior Business Director - Automotive Marketing. In this position he was responsible for Union Pacific's Automotive Marketing team. The Marketing team was responsible for overall market analysis, the Automotive annual operating plan, contract management, and other strategic initiatives. He has also spent time in field sales, logisitcs, and various other roles at Union Pacific where he started in 2002.

Perkes graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in English and has an MBA from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business.

He and his wife, Brooke, have two sons and two daughters.
