Biography:
Leadership role
Ms. Griffith is a member of Grant Thornton’s Tax Leadership team. Doreen sets the growth direction of the tax practice, works collaboratively with clients and Grant Thornton teams, and helps bring new service offerings to the market. Her team helps coach Grant Thornton teams on client relationship building and market strategies. Previously, Doreen was the California Managing Partner. In that role, she set the strategic direction for the California offices, mentored and managed partners and staff, and ensured that the resources of Grant Thornton’s US and member firms are made available to clients and staff.
She also has held Grant Thornton roles as the National Managing Partner of Tax Services, the West Region Tax Practice Leader, and the Office Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Honolulu.
Experience overview
Doreen has extensive experience in the areas of tax consulting, structuring and compliance. She has federal and state tax experience for corporations, individuals, partnerships and bankruptcy estates.
In 2015, Doreen was named one of the Bay Area’s Most Influential Women by the San Francisco Business Times.

She is the Former Chairman of the Hawaii State Board of Public Accountancy and is a member of the California State Society of CPAs and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
