Biography:

Sherman Wilkinson enjoyed his career working in Utah’s economic development community. He served as the first Executive Director of Fred Ball at the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Alliance, bringing together Salt Lake County, twelve cities, and the business community in an organized effort to attract businesses to the Salt Lake area.

From 1988 to 1998, Sherman was with the Utah Technology Finance Corporation (UTFC). While at the UTFC, he reviewed small business funding proposals and marketed the UTFC’s financing services to small businesses, banks, and private and venture investors. Sherman was with the Utah Small Business Development Center (SBDC) from 2007 to 2015 and was the State Director from 2010 to 2015. He created an annual Small Business Day on Utah’s Capitol Hill, a high-profile event that honors top SBDC clients from all state regions with awards presented in the Capitol Gold Room. Sherman currently works with EnerBank USA, a nationally focused home improvement lender based in Salt Lake City.

Sherman has a passion for recreational boating, especially all the fun stuff behind a boat. From 2016 to 2022, Sherman instructed adaptive watersports activities on a seasonal basis for the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah. In his free time, Sherman snow skis, mountain bikes, travels, serves at church, and spends time with family, especially his teenage son. He also likes following college football and basketball.

Sherman received his MPA from BYU’s Marriott School of Management and his BA from the University of Utah.
