Biography:

Ralph Clegg retired as the Executive Director and Local Health Officer of the Utah County Health Department at the end of 2020. Before serving as the Executive Director, he became the first Deputy Director of the Department in 1990. He worked at the Health Department for over 37 years before retiring.

Ralph had the privilege of serving as the President of the Utah Public Health Association and the Utah Environmental Association. He was recognized with the highest award given by each of the Associations, the Beatty Award, and the Pickett/Webb respectively. He also received the Lennis Knighton award in 1992 from the BYU Executive MPA program.

He received his Bachelor of Science Award in Environmental Health from BYU and his Masters of Public Administration from BYU as well. In retirement, he continues to serve as a volunteer on the Board of Directors of Mountainlands Community Health Center and as a site visitor for the Council on Education for Public Health – the accreditation agency for university public health programs.

Ralph and his wife Diane reside in Orem and thoroughly enjoy their family of two daughters and two sons-in-law and 5 grandchildren. Their hobbies include fishing, golfing, attending theatrical plays, gardening, and horticulture.
