Colby Wright is the Finance Undergraduate Program Director and Associate Chair of the Department of Finance at Brigham Young University. He was awarded the Finance Society Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for the 2012 – 2013 academic year. Prior to joining the BYU faculty in 2012, he spent five years as a faculty member at Central Michigan University. While at CMU, he was included in the inaugural (2012) edition of the Princeton Review’s The Best 300 Professors and was awarded the CMU College of Business Dean’s teaching award. He has authored multiple articles published at academic and practitioner journals, including: Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Investing, and Journal of Index Investing. He has also been cited by several popular media outlets, including: BBC Radio, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Bloomberg News, and several others. He earned his Ph.D. in finance with a support area in econometrics from Florida State University in 2007 and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in accountancy in 2001 from Brigham Young University. He is married to the former Misty May. They have four children and live in Mapleton, UT.
