Alum David Corless Earns CMA Medal

When David Corless took the CMA exam earlier this year, he was fortunate. As a student at BYU completing his master’s degree in accounting, he had been awarded a CMA Scholarship and received a number of benefits to make preparing for the exam that much easier. What he didn’t expect was that he’d also earn an outstanding test score.

Glover Appointed to National Accounting Board

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants recently appointed Marriott School of Management associate dean Steve Glover to its Auditing Standards Board. Glover will meet with the board four times a year to update and revise the standards followed by the AICPA’s 400,000 members across the country.

Marriott School of Management accounting professor Bill Tayler was among those honored by the American Accounting Association for an article he co-wrote on the methods and effectiveness of measuring performance. Tayler received the AAA Management Accounting Section’s Impact on Management Accounting Practice Award at a conference last month in Orlando, Fla.
