Business with Integrity: Principles for Building Leadership in Organizations, Communities and Families

 

PROVO, Utah — Jun 01, 2006 — The Marriott School of Management will host its 11th Annual BYU Management Conference June 29 – July 1, 2006.

This traditional event will feature internationally and nationally renowned speakers such as Jon M. Huntsman, Sr., Chairman, Huntsman Corporation; Kim Smith, Vice President, Goldman Sachs & Co.; Bruce Reece, President and CEO, Bonneville International Corporation; and Elder Ben B. Banks, Emeritus General Authority and Director of Hosting, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These and other top executives, professors and business leaders will share their experiences in building trust in organizations.

"The conference consistently presents leading research and practice," says Robert Gardner, director of alumni relations. "The last two I attended enlightened me on a range of topics, from hedge funds to leadership communication strategies."

This year’s conference will focus on the theme: “Business with Integrity: Principles for building leadership in organizations, communities and families.” While the conference itself is geared towards professionals, there are also activities and specific programs for toddlers, children and teenagers. A special luau with entertainment from the BYU Living Legends will be held Thursday night for all participants and their families. A Friday night banquet will feature Elder Banks as a guest speaker. Saturday morning concludes the conference with the annual golf tournament, which will take place at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Club.

New to this year’s conference is a pre-conference workshop on June 28, hosted by the Marriott School's William G. Dyer Institute for Leading Organizational Change. The workshop will examine integrating ethical behavior in strategy implementation and organizational change and also discuss challenges and viewpoints introduced by Marriott School faculty and other participating managers.

The conference will be held in the Harman Building on the BYU Provo campus. An early bird registration discount is available through June 21. Online registration and a full conference schedule are available at marriott.byu.edu/mgtconf.
